OUR PETS ARE BEING POISONED

Sneezy is showing the same symptoms as Catfish and now I know why! It's the cat food! Dog food, too. Check to see if your pet has been poisoned!

CLICK HERE!!! AND HERE!!! They've known about this since December! Click here.

I just left Sneezy at the animal hospital where she will undergo dialysis for the next two days - if she survives. If your pets show excessive thirst, or are peeing where they shouldn't, they've probably eaten some of this food. If they aren't showing symptoms, but you know they've eaten the food, DO NOT WAIT to take them to the vet. GO NOW. The sooner they can be treated, the better chance they have of surviving. By the time you see the symptoms, their kidneys are already shutting down. Just like us, they cannot survive without them.

If anyone hears of a class action lawsuit against Menu Foods, I want to join. Please contact me. And if any of you Menu Foods people show up here, look at the post below to see what you've done.

I don't have a cat or dog. Thanks for the warning.

  2. I didn't know what had happened to Catfish 'til I got your e-mail, and I'm so, so sorry. I'm praying Sneezy will be all right. My dog has been eating that poison. I threw it out and am watching her with an eagle eye. What a damned horrible thing to happen.

  3. Serena Joy, please do not wait. By the time you notice symptoms, the damage is done, and is likely irreversible. Take him to the vet immediately if you want him to live. I'm serious. I know it costs a fortune. I'm now a thousand dollars in debt over it, but I want Sneezy to live. It's too late for Catfish. Maybe if I had known, I could have saved him.

  4. This is awful! I really hope your cat is ok. I hate, and I mean HATE anyone who harms animals. We go out of our way to buy the heathiest food we can for our loved ones and It's a damn shame that we can't trust anything that's on the shelves. I'll be cooking for My cay untill I'm certain this ain't happening over here.

Good luck to both you and Sneezy.
and don't forget to STOMP on the ones responsible for this.

  5. I am so sorry to hear what happened to Catfish - and that Princess Sneezy is so sick. My tortoiseshell Casey is sending kitty hugs and kisses your way.

  6. Thanks, Scary. I appreciate you.

I'm trying to be understanding about this and hoping no one did this knowingly. I'm sure the company who makes the food didn't want to cause themselves many millions of dollars damage, but I have to say I'm not thrilled that the recall site states clearly in capital letters that the news is not for release over the newswire services. How many animals were they going to let die before they 'fessed up? God bless the journalist who broke the news.

My vet seems to think the company may end up paying my vet bills for this, but that doesn't bring Catfish back, and it may not save Sneezy. And just because the vet thinks it's a possibility doesn't make it so, either.

Thank you Kim & Casey. I hope you two will have many years of good health and happiness together.

  7. I'm praying for Sneezy. I've lit candles all over the house for the little cat. Get better Sneezy!

  8. Oh my goodness! How horrible for this to have happened to you (and others) -- I checked and x-checked Tink's food but she is not eating any that is under recall (or made by the co. in question)-- Keep us posted on Sneezy's condition.

    hugs!

  9. Thanks, CD. I haven't cried enough this week already. Please keep those candles lit.

I'm glad Tink's not eating it, Leary. SO glad!

  11. Lesia, I've contacted my vet and am waiting to hear back from her. Naturally, I'll do whatever she says. I'm not going to take any chances. Hopefully, none of the packets my dog ate were from the bad batch.

Please keep us posted on how Sneezy is doing.

I suspect both Menufoods and the supplier that sold them the bad gluten (sp.?) are facing some major lawsuits over this. None of it will bring back the lost pets, but maybe it will cause them to be more careful in the future.

You I know will pursue this to the limit as well you should. I feel like I lost Catfish too. I wish you luck and healing of your heart. sn't it awful when the media choses to keep the info private until we lose our most beloved. Keep us posted and remember you are in my prayer and my love is surrounding you.

  17. Yanno, Writeortalk, I'd like to settle this once and for all. I've asked you three times now what your relationship to Joy is, and you've ignored me each time. I want to like you. You seem like a nice person, but your IP address is only one different from hers, and I'm not comfortable with that. Can you understand my hesitance enough to finally tell me? Do you understand why I can't be friends with her anymore? Help me out here.

Yes I know her and no I don't understand and don't need to understand why you don't like her or can't be friends with her any longer. All I know is that I feel your pain here and have contacted an attorney and hope to hear back from them soon. She does however know about Catfish and was crushed for your loss. As soon as I hear from the attorney I will let you know. I have several who are interested, but only one I trust.

  19. I'm sorry, and thank you for your effort. I still wish I could feel comfortable with you. I'll do my best to judge you on your own character.

  20. Lesia, I just saw your sad news over on Serena Joy's blog...I wanted to stop by and say how terrible sorry I am. Losing a pet is heartbreaking...losing a pet because of some corporation's carelessness and greed just makes me ill.

Big hugs your way...I'm thinking of you.

  21. Thank you, December. It's so nice to hear from you.

  22. Lesia,

Thanks for the email on the food. My guys only eat the dry stuff, and I don't see their brand on that (MASSIVE!) list.

So sorry you've lost one of your best friends to this, and hope your other comes through okay. Will keep checking back, fingers crossed for you and yours.

  23. Hugs for you, and sending positive vibes for Sneezy's recovery.

  24. I received an e-mail from someone whose name I won't reveal because I'm not sure he wants me to. He said he posted a comment here, but it apparently didn't go through, so I'm going to post it for him:

    Hello,

I stumbled across your posts regarding the Menu Foods recall. I just made a comment about it.

I’ve contacted an active animal law attorney I know about this. He would likely know if there are any emerging class actions as they emerge. I’ll let you know what I hear.

While my dogs appear have been seriously injured, they are still alive. I still emphasize with your loss. I could care less about the $6,000 in vet bills I have incurred, but I’d like to see Menu Foods held accountable. My suspicion is that they know much more than they are admitting at this point.

If you haven’t seen it already, here’s a bit of info about PETA’s experience with these people:

  25. Thanks for the good wishes Little Bird, Juju and J. I called the vet about Sneezy throughout the night, and the tech said she was "chilling," then "resting," then "hanging in." I called again when I woke, and a different person said, "no change, but it takes two to three days before we can tell anything." Two other victims of Menu Foods had been brought in during the night - another cat and a dog. The tech wouldn't tell me how they're doing, other than the dog is in the cage next to Sneezy and they are all being given the same treatment.

  28. That link that J left is one of the saddest things I've read in quite some time. It breaks my heart that animals are treated so badly. Absolutely shameful. It will make one cry. I did.

My cat, O'Malley, was diagnosed with kidney failure in early February after eating Iams wet food for about a year and a half. The vet was baffled because he's so young (6 yrs). Please let people know if you hear anything about a class action suit on this.
